Folding chair, 1960s
Cherry, woven rope Yugoslavia
Little is known about this chair or its designer, Ebert Wels. However, it is an interesting Yugoslavian-manufactured design that is similar to Hans Wegner’s better-known design, and certainly it was being retailed in Yugoslavia during the 1960s. Wels’ folding chair incorporates two simple curved wood elements that have integrated handholds and it also employs woven rope to create a comfortable seating support.
