Teak-faced moulded playwood, lacquered tubular metal, rubber Fritz Hansen, Allerod, Dnemark
After the success of his seminal Ant side chair of 1952, Arne Jacobsen created a number of variant designs with similar continous seat and back sections shaped from moulded plywood, including the stackable 3103. With its distinctive T-shaped back section, this elegant side chair could be attached to a number of different bases and was available in a number of different veneers and coloured finishes. Fritz Hansen also manufactured a diminutive version of the 3103 for children.
