What is PAPAYA Studio?

PAPAYA Studio (PAPAYA Design Furniture & Studio) is Thailand’s largest vintage and antique furniture store — four floors of furniture, lighting, decorative objects, art and collectibles gathered over almost fifty years of collecting. Is PAPAYA a museum or a store? Is entry free?

Both, in spirit. Many visitors describe PAPAYA as an antique museum you can touch — but unlike a museum, nearly everything in the building is for sale. Entry is completely free and there is no obligation to buy: you are welcome to come simply to walk all four floors and enjoy the collection.

What are PAPAYA Studio’s opening hours?

We are open every day from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, including weekends and public holidays.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No. PAPAYA is a walk-in store — come any time during opening hours. If you are an interior designer, stylist or production team planning a large sourcing visit, feel free to message us in advance so we can prepare for you.

Can tourists visit? Is it worth the trip?

Yes — PAPAYA has become a Bangkok destination in its own right and has been featured by international travel press, including The New York Times’ “36 Hours in Bangkok”. Most visitors come by taxi or Grab from central Bangkok. If you love vintage design, flea markets or simply strange and beautiful objects, it is worth the ride.

How long should I plan for a visit?

Give yourself at least one to two hours. The building is four floors, the collection is dense, and new arrivals appear constantly — most first-time visitors stay longer than they planned.

Is there parking?

Yes — parking is available at the store.

Can I take photographs?

Yes — personal photos are welcome, and PAPAYA is a famously photogenic place. Commercial photography, fashion, film and video shoots use our studio shooting service instead; contact us in advance to book.

How often does the collection change?

Constantly. The PAPAYA team travels regularly to Europe to hunt and handpick new pieces, and stock moves in and out every week — so the store never looks quite the same twice.

Is everything at PAPAYA for sale?

Nearly everything you see is for sale, from small objects to important design pieces. A few items from the founder’s personal collection stay with us — if you fall in love with something, just ask.

Can interior designers, hotels and restaurants source from PAPAYA?
