About

Papaya Studio

Papaya is Thailand’s largest museum-like antique store covering a massive area of 4 stories filled with million pieces of furniture and decoration. Papaya has been in business for almost half a century.

Mr. Tong (Supoj Siripornlertkul), the owner, has deep passion for antiques since he was just a little boy. When he was 14 years old, he spent all his savings on antiques - that marked the beginning of Papaya. Mr. Tong started buying, trading and collecting antiques since then.

“Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.”

Papaya’s first store was opened in "Pom Mahakan" in 1977. Mr Tong also designed, made and shipped his own furniture internationally. Items in Papaya Studio ranges from ceramics found in the Eastern Europe to cutlery like forks and spoons or even paintings – anything you can think of, Papaya Studio has it.

Despite making antiques his business, Mr.Tong loves to collect than sell them. He said every single piece of antique furniture is his teacher/mentor. They are valuable and charming in their own ways and just like wine, they become more valuable and harder to find with time. Every 3 months, Mr. Tong and the Papaya team will travel to Europe to hunt and handpick antiques to add to our warehouse collection. At Papaya, we aim to share our love and passion for antique with other people as we always believe that “Antique may be old, but they are timeless too.”

Thus, when customers visit Papaya, they will be surprised to see something new every time. A customer once tell us that Papaya is like an antique museum to him because he can touch and feel all the soul of the furniture here.
