Wool Rug with Swirling Folk-Floral Pattern in Navy and Oxblood, c. 1960s–70s

CARP0005

Dimension (c.m.)

Description

A dense wool-pile rug worked in swirling folk florals — a navy and oxblood ground with olive, orange, lavender and ice blue. The bold, painterly pattern is typical of European rug design of the 1960s–70s.

Small enough to layer in front of a sofa or beside a bed, where the colour does the work of artwork — and dense vintage wool pile like this wears far better than modern tufted rugs.
